i'm in orange county. i've got a '90 D350 dually, intercooled, 6-speed from an '02 model, 3" exhaust (i know, i need to find a 4" system) with a straight through muffler dumped in front of the rear end, custom bed with a sleeper on the back. what's the latest on any local get-togethers?
I am in the San Gabriel Valley 30 miles from Los Angeles, 30 miles from Crystal Lake and 30 miles from Huntington Beach off Highway 39
Sounds like the perfect place.
I was beginning to think I had the only 1st. Gen in Southern California, the only other one I have seen around here is a gasser.

its obvious us so cals keep a very low profile, were first gen big! some states do the emissions test regularly, ours fortunately does not, that said, ive seen many a freeway onramp, with cameras, sniffers, badges, and a great excuse not to reveal the ability to destroy it all in a black, preboost, mushroom cloud! i save that for up here in the desert, we do need a local so cal gathering, i know many that will attend, im local to the diesel carpenter, our area of desert, has many great group gathering opportunities, from blm to national parks, lake isabella is beautiful, all very close, show this guy some support, ill be glad to throw some great options down, to help pick the favorite meet and group greet spot, by favorite vote, signed,
so cal sooty, not much public smoker, from a non public smoking state.

And I just had to have a better look..

So as I passed I just had to take a few seconds to get a couple of pictures for myself, I think I might have spooked the guy inside the trailer because as I left I saw the side door open and a head peek out to have a lookie.
I hope he kept looking for my truck in his mirror on his way home.
The cameras take a picture of your license plate as you pass and the scanner I believe use a laser to reflect off the mirror through your exhaust as you pass through.
Stacks would defiantly put the exhaust a little higher than it could see.

Jim.
Do you think there is any way there will be any get togethers out here in my area?
What Alan Hibbs had tried to start the beginning of 2007 was promising but died an agonizing death; the site got overtaken with ****.
I finally got to meet all the nice people and put a face to your name and see what all your trucks looked like.
I had outgrown the racing in the 70’s but I still like to watch and help out, now I just like to drive slower and show off my truck that I try to keep in perfect condition.
It would be nice to meet you all again.
