Cool another great first gen Story

well i took my truck to the tire place to get some new tires put on it and after about 20 minutes i had every one gathered around it, just amazed with how it looked. and the only thing i have done to it was put on chrome cab lights and a tonnue cover on it. and they were all staring at it saying things like how long it was

People do tend to think my truck is about 15-25 years older then it actually is. I get the "what year's your truck" all the time; I say '90 and they're surprised. I get a few that don't think I understood the question.

Doesn't look like something out of the '60's or '70's, does it? I guess it's just that timeless design.

I think that first gens are shaping up to be serious collector items, personally. We do have the first performance-capable Diesels produced, and they seem to be increasing in value all the time.

Expecially since most of them have been trashed with years of neglect/work

I may have it wrong but I think these CTDs started life as big-rig engines and Dodge took them off the shelf as a proven engine for these pick-ups. I'll sure admit that I chose mine based simply on the sound and the rumors of good fuel economy, the latter being true I might add. No regrets after 3 1/2 years and about 60,000 kms

The 5.9 series ctd started out in Case ag equipment in the early 80's and evolved into what we have today.

Dodge kept the same basic body design from 69 through 93 so people don't know what they are seeing when they see a first gen.

Actually the 72-93 were nearly identical, the 60's to 1971 were a different looking bird all together.
