My stage 2 has a 6" opening on the "torque tube" that the filter fits over. I think the stage 1 only has a 4". Mesure you intake tube diameter and maybe afe has a filter to fit it.

I bet that would be a much cheaper rout. I dont think there is any boubt that the pg7 filters are some of the best out for turbo diesels, but the one you need prolly cost 100 bucks or so and I wouldnt run an afe filter unless it was a pg7.
Id get the biggest filter I could fit under the hood. I bet with some searchin you could find the part number you need for a BHAF once you find out the inlet size of the intake.

I'm curious. Did you get a bad oil analysis with the AEM Dry Flow filter? Any reason why your wanting to switch to the PG7? I ask because I was going to order aa AEM intake w/ the Dry Flow filter in the not to distant future...

man i love the aem but Someone pointed out to me that my reminder was sucked all the way down.! I can get it to do it every time. I love the dry filter part but I would like to have the air. Any other opinions would help. thanks

An AFE PG 7 will work out great in replacing the AEM filter. You can get AFE filters that will match the diameter of the aem system so it will go right in place with no problems. How's the clutch doing??

thanks, its def. holding! taking some major getting used to. cant seem to start off w/o hopping . its different but at least it holds.

What about one of the new Amsoil Nanofiber filters? They have several that should fit that tube. Gus should be able to get you set up with one of those for about the same price or less than the AFE, and no oiling!

Mine does the same thing and its brand new. I figured it was the fact that the minder is in the tube rather than the airbox like the stock setup and therefore reads more vacuum. Let me know if changing filters helps the airflow according to the minder. Would be interesting to know actual difference in airflow between the AEM and another brand. I've pretty much considered the minder useless now other than plugging the hole in the tube. Mine sucked all the way down after the first couple of miles of having the new intake on. Hope I didn't waste my money - it sure seems to flow better though - more responsive throttle- and the singing turbo is a nice feature too.

If you believe the information from the manufacturer the air flow for the AEM is over 900cfms. The BHAH is somewhere in the are of 450cfms. There has been much talk about the now useless airfilter minder on the AEM setup. I spoke to a tech about a year ago. Some people just can't do with out the minder so AEM placed a hole on tube for those that need it. The problem seems to be that it is so close to the turbo it can't help but be sucked it. It was designed to be in the box to measure the air coming into the box and through the filter. Not in the turbo tube air channel. I use the dryflow air filter in a S&B box setup w/ cold air tube on the bottom of the box. My egts are nice and low. The filter alone runs around $45.00 and works great. But do some research and search the forum. Thats why we're all here, info.
