ABDTR 1st Genners..

Guys, I have a new Fleetguard LF3349 oil filter and spin on FS1232 fuel filter for a first gen that I found in my filter box. Let me know and I can bring them to the next GTG for ya. They are still in the wrappers, just never used.

dvst8r, I don't mind pulling wrenchs, I think that I owe ya buddy. I have a spare head available buddy for the truck, if you want to try. I think that it would be cool to get the old girl going again and put a beating onto the newer trucks.

My biggest problem is that I like to spend the repair parts money for the truck on new tools, like dry cut saws, and press's ect...

Well that and I need to stop being lazy and send the head off for o-rings.

Its about time we get another 1st gen back onto the road and making some big power. MY VE head is just sitting there collecting dust. Its just a head gasket, for my truck I think it was $140. You can get a top end gasket kit pretty cheap as well. You can still buy the new power tools, theres no reason why you can't do both

Mike once your project is drivable, and once Luke's project is drivable, we can worry about mine. Both those projects are way cooler, and far more interesting to me and I would rather put effort into those then into my old rust bucket. Mine will get done, but I am in no hurry. It is welded front and rear and makes for really sketchy driving in the winter, at very least it can wait till spring.

Oh and it is a little more then just a head gasket...

If you are really curious as to all that needs to be done before it goes back on the road:

-VE pump to Gilles my pump man for an overhaul 14mm head 4mm lift cam plate. (This is a want not a need)
-Injectors my stock ones have like 400K on them, time for some new ones, probably a custom set of 6X.016's (Injectors refreshed at the very least is a need, not much spray pattern left there)
-Fuel system, 1/2" feed line, electric pump on a bypass setup, fuel cooler to make the ve live. (all ready tore out the old fuel system, this is now a need )
- Clutch, probably a DD. I could already slip the stock one with just the stock ve turned up.
- Tires, need those to pass the out of prov. inspection.
- New Radiator, this one is rotten.
- Intercooler (want more then need, but would be nice to do while it is all apart)
- Head O-ringed (this is a need, I popped it with an hx-35, I can only imagine once I add a couple more turbos)
- 60# valve springs for the head.

I am probably forgetting something in there, but that is the basic list. Off the top of my head $3000-$5000 in parts.

So well I do really appreciate the offers, and one day I will take you up on them, it probably won't be till spring at the earliest.
