Very. The aftermarket guys are gonna hate building this tranny up. I'll bet it would make a mean racer though.

Double OD would be nice....and then run 4.10-4.30 in the rear.

Imagine something like that behind a cummins. Why cant dodge have mercedes build them a good 6spd auto tranny, and have it over with?

The Fords aren't downshifting really, its the darn TC unlocking and locking.

Ever notice.......even going downhill....let off the gas.....and step back on it, it will have a unlocked converter......

Absoulutely annoying....had one of those POS for 4 months...got rid of it for the CTD, and loving it.

I dont think the 4spd auto is all that bad, but it isnt as nice as an allison because it doesent lock the converter. The 4spd is more suited to a cummins than a D-Max and P-Stroke because we dont need to keep our motors right between 2800-3200 to get power. But wouldnt it be awesome with a 5/6spd auto that locked the converter in every gear, and shifted at about 2200rpm's, only pulling the motor back down to 1800 or so? That would absolutley be a pulling machine.

Interesting no doubt. To bad they don't even have a 6-speed manual/clutch/ flywheel thats worth a crap.

I think GM needs to concentrate more on reliability with the current drive train before moving on with more BS like a 6-speed auto.

But what do I care I can't afford their over priced trucks anyway! I'm sure this will add at least another $1,000 to the sticker.

Yeah. They are really proud of their trucks no doubt. I say they just junk all the automatics, and only put 6 speeds in trucks. I wanted a manual when i got mine. I do like the automatic for racing, but thats about it. A manual is much more reliable and fun to drive, and im hoping my next truck will be a manual. Ill have to wear this one out first though
