4K Gov for 24 valve
Re:4K Gov for 24 valve
dodgeboy:

The 24 valve engines do not use the 4K Gov Spring
Kit because their fuel pump (VP-44) is electronically
controlled. To be able to have and use the 4K gov
spring kit you would need to install a P7100 Fuel
Pump on your 24 valve engine.

---------
John_P

Re:4K Gov for 24 valve
I have a question for those with or considering a P pump conversion. At what rpm do the stock valves hit the pistons and what do you consider a safe operating rpm with regard to valve piston contact? Inquiring minds want to know! Larry
[/quote]

Larry,

I have never run my truck over redline before I had it up at Piers' shop last month. I had kissed 3 pistons with only 10k miles on the truck. Only one of the intake valves touched on each piston and it was the same one on all three. I went with a bigger gasket this time and when the $$ is available I'll go to the heavier valve springs. They are $25/each.

Nathan
