2wd suspension mods

Well I've been itching for change, so I'm wanting to tinker with the truck some more. I'm wanting to gain more traction, better side to side control, towing manners, and looks of course. Not much you can do with a 2wd, but here are my thoughts.

Hellwig swaybars front and back (price aint bad, are they worth the money?)

I want to bump my Daystar kit from a 1.5" to a 2.5". I don't haul extremely heavy, so i am kinda wanting a squat in the back. A low pre runner look. Since I've flipped the blocks in the back, I think it will have a menacing look.

Traction bars. For one, I'm not going to pay some ridiculous price for some backyard piece. I got too many friends with the right stuff to just make them myself. If anyone has part numbers and specs on the pieces involved, please speak up!

I'm hoping these ideas will net me a better ride in all conditions and maybe help with me breaking traction all the time. I'm also gonna be swapping out the OFE clutch for a DD3250.

Ideas are welcome, info is needed please!

What about some kind of track bar from the top of the axle u bolts to the front hanger spring mount point to prevent axle wrap? Just a thought.

I had my 2wd 2500 lowered in the rear with traction bars. The bars are a must especially on a 2wd manual trans truck. IMO I had a 3250DD in my truck and you are going to want bars with that clutch.

I took the bars off before I sold the truck and I remembered very fast why I had them on there.

Thanks! Have you had any issues with binding while towing ??? I already feel like I need them, along with the sway bars.

Did you make your own trac bars or buy them?? The lazars I quoted before were over 1k and thats just too much.

Not many 2wd guys out there, we're kinda rare

Ill be doing the same, I want the rear of my mega lower(they sit even higher than the QCs stock) already did drop shackles, but only lower the rear a hair over an inch. Id like to ditch the overload spring and get some better shocks, but ive heard if you remove the overload you get lots of axle wrap. Id like to build some bars too, but not sure on how to build a set that tuck up to the frame and dont hang down too low.

I just bought a set of bars from lazarsmith... I would buy a welder and build my own if I had it to do again. They ran me ~500, but I was not the least bit crazy about the 2wd axle brackets. Other than that I had no problems with them. No binding but I never ran much tounge weight on that truck.

My drop shackles lowered my truck almost 3 inches in the rear. It was a spring over hanger shackle and it was so long I had to clearance the pinch weld on the bottom of the bed to get them to clear.

If you're concerned about traction/towing etc, have you installed a selectable rear locker yet?

The rear diff is fine for on road use. The only thing that will help a 2wd ctd off pavement is a set of tractor tires.

I looked at them, they were pioneered on muscle cars, I'ma little concerned about durability on such a big heavy truck, thats why I'm looking for suggestions. Mounting is a big issue, dont want it to be skimpy. The main concensus seems to be to build your own.
