1997 floor console
has anyone ever converted the older style 94-97 standard trans shifter boot to the newer 98-02 shifter boot with the cupholders. and what was dodge thinking when they put those cupholder on the dash

just think of how many factory or aftermarket radios got bought because some ones java dumped down the cd whole. i dumped a 44oz pop down the front of my cd player in my 96.

Sorry about bumping this. The factory holder is junk and I was actually searching for a gauge mount to replace the in-dash drink holder. ATS Diesel lists one but they want an arm and leg for it and I have yet to get any confirmation that it's really what they claim -- waiting on an e-mail from them hopefully with the requested photo.
I looked at various 3rd party offerings like the Smoothie and they sure are proud of them!
I found the thing below and think it's a flat out winner, and CHEAP!
A couple more photos of this and more description in my gallery.
I am pretty sure I still have the box and can maybe get the brand or something -- it's out in Texas though if I still have it. Will annotate the photo or follow up with a message if I can help with locating these.
UPDATE:
This is a 'Made for Wal-Mart' item so there is not brand however, here is what I did find out:
UPC : 8 02239 00002 4
NAME: Deluxe Backset Drink & Meal Holder
I looked at various 3rd party offerings like the Smoothie and they sure are proud of them!
