1.5 million

Don't know if anyone else has posted this but just read in Trailer Life mag that Cummins has shipped it's 1.5 millionth engine. When launched in 88 for the model year 89 Cummins only expected to produce 8000 engines for Dodge annually. Cummins produced more than 165000 turbodiesel engines for 2006.

I know what you ment by this statement but......

Over 2,000,000 Power Stroke ® Diesel-equipped Ford trucks have been produced – and an astonishing 98.5% are still on the road!*

* R.L.Polk vocation registrations January, 1994 – September, 2003
I think they need to do this survey again though since it ended in 2003 and that is when the 6.0 was introduced. (kind of ironic huh?) Would be interesting to see the new numbers.

Talking 2003-2005 Results

Here's the results of a Bluedeviltorquestats Corp. study of powerstroke engines from 2003-2005.

98.5% of them are still on the road. They were recycled into things such as brake rotors, steel belts in tires, manhole covers, ect... so that leaves about 1.5% that are still in their original form!

Sorry, couldn't resist the urge!

Mike

I believe it's only engines they've shipped to Dodge!
