just saw this on my 06 today, there is 2 empty spaces in the fuse box. #4 is aisian trans control. # 36 or 37 says vgt diesel only. i knew they were talking about both of these but didnt kniow it was a sure thing. are the 6.7's getting a vgt?

 

I am relatively new to this forum, and very new to Diesel. I own an 06 2500 that only has 540 miles on it, and just ordered steps and brush guard, and lights, and am soon to order the Quadzilla. Because I am new, I plan to post a lot of What is ...? questions. hope you don't think me too dumb, but what is "VGT"?

 

VGT= Variable Geometry Turbo. It allows for very quick turbo spool compared to ours. GM and Ford already run a variation of this turbo.

 

VGT= Variable Geometry Turbo---------Turbo Vains Gradually Get Larger as more boost is being made+speed to accomodate higer power for top-end performance and bottom-end.

 

I towed a golf cart at work with a Ford 6.0 VGT and it sucked
it sounded like a hurricane under the hood but the thing just would not move.
I think a 4cyl Toyota could have out pulled this thing!

I hope cummins VGT is better then fords. (I'm sure it will be)

 

vgt will be on the 07.5 models
