Guys my buddy has an 02 extended cab and his passenger floor is always wet in the front seat. he had the rear window seal replaced recently but it is still wet. Could it be a heater core issue? thanks guys

 

if it smells like anti freeze, then it's probably the heater core.

 

Most common leak is the cab brake light.
Water from it ends up on the pass floor.
New seal from the dealer or silicone caulk will fix it right up.

 

Had a 2001 with same problem. Flush heater core. That should fix it.

 

Just curios on this one please tell me how flushing the heater core will take care of his carpet getting wet ??

If he had said no heat or low heat output that i could understand.

 

Do like Bill says check that 3rd brake light then check for heater core leakage or a plugged condensate drain on the heater box but that's not likely this time of year. Unless he lives in Air,Fla,Texas, etc.

 

Does he have roof mounted cab lights? One of mine was leaking and the water ran down the A-piller onto the floor. I just replaced the gasket and all was good.

 

try looking under the cab to see if the "knock out" panal is still there had to put one back in my truck after previous owner pulled it out to run cb cables and other wires through

 

if it is in the floor infront of the front seat, it could be his windshield leaking. mine had a spot where the precious owner replaced the windshield and left a spot unsealed. it would go in and leak down the a pillar or somethin and end up in the floorboard. pulled the strip out, put some window silicone in it, put the strip back on, and good to go.

 

I had a 95 that did the same thing. I replaced the door seal and fixed the problem.

 

The air conditioner drain is rolling back into cab put an extension on it to get it further away from the insulation blanket on the fire wall it is on the driver side

 

My 98 leaked did all of the above ,the problem was a seem under the hood in the cowell corner by the foam seals.The water would run down the windshield along the wiper tray (black plastic) and over down the double seem were there wasn't enough sealant to cover the bend, it would pull the water in to the door jam and on to the floor.Open the hood and look there first.

 

I did this and havent had a problem in years. Its on the passenger side though.

 

Thats how I solved my wet floor. just extend the drain. AllanP is right, its on the passenger side.

 

Yes it is on the passenger side I was posting late sorry abot that, I used a 3/8 hose I think came out past the insulation installed a 90 degree elbow and came down about 5 inches and never had the problem again.
