They were somewhere south of Fort Mac but still on the trailers. He knew I was near Calgary and it didn't sound like shipping was an issue.
I wish I could remember the price but we talked about so many different options I cann't remember. It was a good enough deal I considered buying it and trying to sell off half of it. But the timing was just wrong. I'll probably be kicking myself in two years.
Call them up. I filled an online quote request and the guy that called me back was actually from the service division not sales but was really awesome to talk with.

My son spends a lot of his time around Ft Mac, he's interested and going to contact the company.
If they are still on the trailers that's even better, Just talked to my son but it's too late today because of thanksgiving, so Tuesday it is. Thanks cLAYH

That's just down the road from me! I am just north in another subdivision. Anyway, I was looking at a shop for the spring, too, and I found that Steel Buildings Canada had a great price. 40X40 with 16' walls, two overhead door openings, delivered to my place, with insulation, for $25,000! Just need to pour the pad, put it up with some help, doors, power, gas and done! Check them out.

20K is amazing!! I'm a couple grand under that for my 30x36 for the groundworks alone, footings, pony walls, rebar and slab. I needed 40 tandem loads of 18" minus to fill a hole at the back right corner and a Geotech to sign off on it.

Kelly and I just bought a house north of Spruce Grove... we take possesion Oct 25th... BUT,, we probably wont fully move in until next summer LOL... Thats when Kelly's contract is up with Westburne... oh well it will give me time to work on building a shop. I am leaning towards either a 32 x 40 or a 32 x 60 (big enough to fit a motorhome) And I am thinking 16' ceilings with 14 foot doors. What do you guys think?
I split the shop in half, front half is my bike repair area and the rear half it my cabinet/wood shop. I was almost out grown when I moved in 7 almost 8 years ago hence three more out buildings. LOL Yep, it's a sickness just like when we start working on what ever we are working on to make it run better.
Again, congrats and best with it. Have to post up some pics when you can. Jim.

The structure will be the cheap part if you stick build. Foundation and slab will be the big hit. Good quality concrete (30MPa) 8" thick, one layer of 15M bar @12" o/c chaired, will run $15 to $17 per square foot placed. piles and grade beam I don't know off the top of my head. Commercial OH door plus opener will run you $7 to 40k depending how fast you want it to go up and down and how many glass panes you want. Heat will depend on whether you go radiant in-floor or space heater. Electrical - well how many high amp plugs? Lights? Plumbing?
Budget number I would start with is $40/sq.ft. if you you do some heavy lifting on the framing and finishing. A building the size and height you want done to Part 9 code is not cheap. An overhead crane is great but very expensive as an after thought. Hell, cranes are expensive with new construction! That's a whole other league with the span you want. A 40 ft span with 2 5ton hoist, rails, columns, was just quoted North of 100k.
So, first decide if you want a warm, dry, well-lighted shop with a floor sump and painted drywall - or - dry storage.
Pre-eng warehouse type building on concrete is running about $80 /sq.ft. if you watch it go up and just write the cheque.
Cool home improvement project!
