Random ABS/BRAKE light

Ok, I knew my brakes were wearing because the pedal was REALLY shallow. Then I started getting a consistent ABS/BRAKE light every time I drove it. I pulled all four tires and the brakes were shot. I replaced brakes on all four corners and drove the truck around. No problems, light went out, didnt come back on for three trips around town. First time the wife gets in, she calls and says she hears "grinding" and that the ABS/BRAKE lights are back on. I have no idea what it could be because it hasnt done it to me while driving. Any thoughts?

I had a light come on because a front hub had gone bad and cooked the sensor.

How about looking first, then asking the forum. I for one do not own a cyrstal ball. However, be aware that the caliper slider pins often seize and cause uneven pad wear. These need to be cleaned and lubed every time the brakes are serviced. Secondly, the 3rd generation trucks suffer swelling caliper pistons that refuse to retract. Both of these conditions will quickly trash new pads.

I had it intermittently for a time, then hit a bad road joint which made it stay on.
Turned out to be a bad sensor n the rear axle.

Ok I drove it and did experience a buzzing in the pedal when braking and the light tends to come on when turning. My wife also explained some sort of popping sound when turning and then the truck surged three times under light exceleration (not a great explanation) and then quit. I'm inclined to think that my hubs are getting worn out after 120k miles. Just curious if there are tell tale signs of hub failure. I dont want to shotgun parts at the truck.

I appreciate all the help! If anyone else lost their crystal ball, please move along kindly.
