what NOW!
drove my truck for the first time in about tree weeks the other day. shes been sitting waiting for me to find a set of lower control arms to fill with the new goodies i have.
WELP i fired her up to take her to the local sonic car show. drove there no problems besides the norm. got her just about home and the voltmeter started rising with the throttle. this has happened before and i replaced the voltage regualtor and it fixed the problem right away. what else could it be?!
on a side note ive also noticed backfeed on the radio from the alternator. a guy at work told me this can happen from a diode going back in the alt. is this true or a possibility?

If you have a bad diode, you are going to have AC voltage in the system.
Did you check voltage with your meter set to VAC?
