5'th Annual Claremont Roundup
Hope this helps: Claremont VFD
I may be able to get a couple of hot rods for the dyno run if there are no objections or concerns. One of them is a 1957 Ford hard top with a 427 FE running through a C6. It is a fairly strong street machine. The other is a very cherry late model Mustang Cobra GT. I don't want to get away from our DTR theme but money is money.

Sheet metal is going up over some of the steel. We will still have plenty of room, just not as much this year as in the past. The main thing is not to block the far side of the building to prohibit the fire trucks from leaving. Whether it looks like it or not, this is a working fire house and we must not impede in any manner the trucks from exiting the north side of the building.
I hate to do it but I gotta rehash the Safety issue (too many years in the nuclear industry) and the funding for the use of the building.
SAFETY:
We have not had even as much as a hangnail (well maybe a few bruised ego's) in the past and I want to continue that tradition. Observing all of the rules for clearances around the dyno is positively an absolute must.... These trucks (well some of them anyway, not mine) are imparting a massive amount of energy to that dyno. David and his folks do a most excellent job of securing the trucks but as in any case, there is always a first time. Please observe all clearance orders especially when trucks are going on and off the dyno and even more critical, when they are spinning the roller.
FUNDING:
As in the past, all (every dime) proceeds raised go to the CVFD for allowing us the use of the excellent facility. There are showers there for those that need them and restrooms for our use (bring your own towels and bath supplies). There is a fully outfitted kitchen but please do not use their supplies. There is an ice machine there as well. Treat them like your own home or better and help me keep them clean. Do to short funding this year, I have not had the occasion to purchase the little trinkets that I dontated for raffle items so if you have some item(s) you want to sell and donate a portion of the proceeds, bring it / them along. Not that it makes a difference but during the last roundup, I handed Mike a little over $1100.00 in cash for their use and they were most appreciative.
GENERAL INFO:
I think David and company usually like to keep it around 20 to 24 trucks if I remember right. Correct me if I'm wrong John. That is usually a pretty busy day for the dyno people. And they will run pretty much anything they can drive up on the dyno.
It is supposed to be hotter than the hinges of, er ah, you know so bring plenty of cool drinks.
You can Google Chester Virginia for those of you that will need lodging. Anywhere from flea bags to the Hilton about 40 minutes right up route 10.
There is a small convenience store right up the road about a half mile that dispenses that most satisfying of beverages for those that care to indulge.
There is a NAPA dealer right up route 10 about six miles that stays open till about noon Saturday only. There are the big box names (Advance, Auto Zone, etc) about 30 minutes up the road in Hopewell.
Not that I need to tell you but there is a Virginia State Trooper office right up the road in Waverly about 14 miles or so. So unless you like contributing to the blue light specials (not K Mart), watch your maximum velocity.
There is a lot of construction going on around the back side of the building where the dyno normally sets. Please stay clear of that area. I do not believe they will be working Saturday but will more than likely be there Friday into the afternoon.
If anyone has any largs trash cans, bring them along. I can dump the trash right up route 40 about six miles Sunday.
Grilles and cooking, there is a Sams club up the road about 24 miles that has a most excellent carcass supply if need be.
John Randolph hospital is right up the road about 20 minutes if need be.
If you need access to any other services, please let me know. And most of all, be safe and lets have a good time.

Is this a Friday/Saturday/Sunday dyno event or just a certain time on Saturday? How does the dyno line up work? Do you get on the list and wait until your name comes up or is it whoever is ready?
It's been a very long time since I've dyno'd.
