Anyone 'round here got a turbo?

Guys,

I need an HX35 from a late second gen with the wastegate running forward. Someone said they had one for me, but I cant remember who....anyone around S'ville have one they want to part with?

Thanks

Na, nothing broke. Mileage is killing me on my GMC. It has an industrial turbo; HX35 with 18cm non-wastegated housing. I have a 12cm turbine housing for it, but I am dreading the swap. I would rather find a bolt on..... other HX35's with 12-14cm housings would work, but my turbo is close the the starter(gm adapter puts is on passenger side) so the older HX will probably hit....then I have to modify linkage and such. Dang conversions are a never ending deal

I am having the timing bumped to 15-16.5 next week....cant get a good answer on what is best and I am going to back down the star wheel so I when I cant resist the urge to floor it with the convertor locked, at least there will not be stupid amounts of smoke.

A friend of mine in Stephenville had an HX35 he was trying to sell. He is on DTR so you might send him a message. His name on here is "SO5.9". I talked to him about it at the end of February, but he might still have it.

Think we emailed back and forth and he never came by or called....if you talk to him let him know I am interested.

If you have 4.10 gears, I'd get the 14 housing. The 12 is very restrictive on the top end, even cruising with no load.

I do have 4.10's, but that is with 35" tires and .75 OD tranny. I need a good bit more boost than I have with the 18cm at no load. Right now it will smoke almost constantly below 1900RPM unless you really baby the throttle. Unless you let out it gradually and slow down will smoke all the way up a hill....that it unless you are running 70-75MPH. I try to run a little slower to conserve fuel, but I cant at this point.

That said, the 14cm might work really well.

I actually already have a 12cm housing I could put on, but my turbo is starting to slobber oil so I would rather get a good used one than rebuild and rework this one.

Maybe I should just bolt a 14cm HX40 on it...I have one of those in my shop.

I ordered a new CHRA yesterday and I already have a 12cm wg housing. I will just put one together and swap out the compressor housings.
