wiring a 6 plug connector

I'm trying to figure out how to wire a 6 plug connector into the Ram. The instructions are not that great and I've never messed with trailer wiring before. The truck has an old brake controller on it so it should be easy but on the back of the plug on the connector it has "A" which I think is for auxiliary. What is auxilary? Where does auxilary come from? It is the center of the plug so I would think it is important. Then "S" is also written on the back it being the only one left I thought it was for the brake. Is that right?

It really depends on what wiring code the trailer is wired to. Usually my shop does brake in the center pin and aux in the other one. Some trailers are wired the other way (aux in the center and brake on the side) so it really depends on how the trailer is wired.

I am sure he already has the 6 plug in hand. But Think he would be better runing a standard RV type 7 pin plug then addapers down to a 6 plug. I carry two 6 pin addaper plug with the center pins swaped each way it all depends on the trailer. I love the guy that thought of swaping the center and and the other witch happen to be eather the electric Brake or the + bat power . makes it fun...

If its your trailer ,change it to the 7 pin rv style. I did it to my construction trailers and now its a universal fit and can be pulled with anything.

I have the 6 plug already( I didn't even think about the 7 plug)
I'll have to look for the trailer wiring to figure which is which.

I have an old brake controller that was on the truck when I bought it. But there is two bare wires one blue and one black. I figured the blue is the brake wire but what is the other for? Both have power going through them when I press the brake in.

Also does the auxilary power have to be constent?
