Just wondering what the most weight anybody here has hauled with there 3500 dually?

 

Probably won't come close to the weight pulled by a SRW 2500 to Alaska...somebody with the tech expertise please link that thread!

 

the most i towed with my srw was 19,500 gvcw so i bet it will be more than that.

 

hit the scales at 42k lbs in a 3/4 ton. only went about 50 miles and it would run 75 down the highway

Not with a diesel but back in the day I pulled a 18 wheeler with 26 tons of hay plus the weight of the truck and trailer through the mud to the stack yard. Less than a 1/4 mile and didn't go fast. Oh yeah it was with a 1/2 ton Chevy with a 292 6 and a 4 speed. It's nothing compared to what alot of people have done. That was a couple of years before I got my drivers license.

 

Pulled a 84,000 pound semi about 18 miles into town 2 years ago during harvest truck lost his clutch. It was my grain and not my truck
Other then that I pull up to 42,000 on a regular basis.

Thanks guys, I will check out those other threads. I just wanted to see what my 2007 6.7,auto,dually was actually capable of pulling.

 

Hauled a 23,000 lb pinion gear for a large machine at 34,550 gross. Pulled great!! Just took a while gettin her goin.

 

I pull 26340 GCVW its 2 bobcats and gear on a 3 axle gooseneck

 

Some years ago I was working the afternoon shift at the 747 hangar, it was a hot evening so the doors were open at each end. The sky turned black and we got a call from the tower there was a tornado warning out and large hail. We decided to close the doors but first we would get as many aircraft inside as we could. The hangar would hold 4 narrow body easily so guys took the two tractors that were around and started to drag in a couple of 727's that left one space empty but no tractor.

There was a 4 cylinder Cummins baggage tractor parked so I grabbed that and a couple of guys and raced out to a DC9-32 unladen weight 60,000 lb, gross 109,000 lb. As the small baggage tractor pulled the DC9 it started to rain and when the wet tires got into the hangar the wheels started to spin on the smooth concrete. At this point we can't get the last door closed so guys started to climb onto the tractor to get some traction. The tires spinning slowly dried them and restored traction and we made it into the hangar and closed the doors. I don't think anyone thought that the little Cummins could do it but it sure gave me a new respect for the little diesel engine.

 

i have pulled around 5 ton of scrap metal to the shredder in slc from where i live.... about 190 miles, dually is no more
