What are you guys using to power your winches?

In the past, I had a spare battery that I sat on the ground. I ran the leads from the winch to the battery, then jumper cables from that battery to the battery of the truck. As you can imagine that's quite a PITA and want to go a better route.

I assume the AUX/extra lead on a 7-pin connector isn't big enough to supply the correct amperage...

Superwinch make's a neat set up. You run a #2 wire straight to your battery, then to where ever you want. It has a plug that you hook to your winch for easy hook up. You eliminate a secondary battery to power your winch.

It's a good set up, but too darn expencive. I found a place that sell's batteries/cable's and stuff like that. They could make me the same deal for a fraction of the price. Cal

What we did was run some welding cable form the Batteries, to the bed, and it plugs into into the winch.

That's what the other place said it was too. Just make sure it has a weather resistant insulation.

welding cable and quick connects works great for that sort of thing.
