Mine is an 04.
I have 126,000, mostly commutting Miles.
The only complaint I have is the seat is not that great. Comfort wise.
My truck has been very reliable and good on fuel.

I flipped the axles on my 5er. sets pretty now. For your info the 06 does not have the same warranty as the 05. 05 has a tranferrable 7 year 70,000 mile on drive train. If you buy a used 05 you can go to the dealership and transfer the warranty to you for I think 150$. That was one reason I bought the new 05 instead of the 06. better warranty. you can probably search the site for specific info on that or can contact your local dealership. I have had really good luck with the 05. Oh and when your looking make sure you get the flip up towing mirrors very good option

I would not level the truck. It sits up in the rear for hauling to allow a little squat. I also have 30ft 5er with axles flipped and with 3500 model/heavy duty Timbrens installed the truck sits really level as does the 5th wheel.

Don't remove the leaf-pack blocks unless you MUST to level your 5'er

I'd agree. My 5er lists 1900 pin weight empty. With the trailer loaded plus the weight of the hitch, it levels my 3500 SRW nicely without modification. It would probably sag with the trailer hooked up if I had modified the truck to ride level empty.

I did the "flip" thing to my trailer to have it ride level with plenty of breathing room between the top of the bed and frame. Actually, the flip put the trailer higher than it needs to be, but it handles fine and gives me peace of mind in some of the rough spots I pull into. If I were to do it again, though, I'd think about going with bigger tires/wheels on the trailer.

Some newer 5th wheels seem to be set up to clear the higher bedrails of newer 4x4 trucks while keeping the trailer level and a nice gap above the bed, so depending on your trailer you might not have to modify anything.
