Trailer brakes OR Brake Box???
Yeah, the trailer empty is 1200 lbs plus two long tracks is probably another 1200 lbs plus gear ect, so its not heavy, but i just bought the trailer and its more irritating then anything, the brakes are on the trailer, might as well have them function correctly plus if i use the wifes 4runner the extra help would be nice.
I hear you. I can't put up with anything not working right even if I don't need it. I would suggest trying an inexpensive but decent controller like a Prodigy, they have great reputation and the $100 purchase may cure your problems. Would be well worth the piece of mind.
If this is a timer type controller, usually there are two settings. One is for the maximum amount of power the unit will send to the trailer brakes, and the other is how long it will take to ramp up to that level....
