which torque convertor for an 01?

my friends tranny started to slip yesterday as he was towing a trailer up here.

i mentioned to him how you guys said you should upgrade your tc and vavles or something..

thats all he does all day long is haul trailers with his truck so which model torque convertor and stuff should he go with, hes not rich either.

its an 2001 dodge ram 2500 4x4.

Just about any aftermarket torque converter with a lower stall rpm will be better than the stock one. Some of the bigger names that you also see frequently are DTT (Diesel Transmission Technology), Goerend Brothers, and Suncoast. All of these companies sell the modified transmission valve bodies too, which mainly improve the shift points and line pressures of the trans. Your friend needs to contact the different tranny companies and discuss the type of use he needs and get quotes on pricing. He doesn't have to go for overkill if he is on a budget and there are many options to choose from.

An aftermarket torque convertor and a valve body is an excellent upgrade for any truck it will improve shift points and help with slippage and shuddering of the torque convertor.

Goerend priced me one of their single disk torque converters for a real good price. Tell him to give them a call. Dave is a great guy to talk to and whether you buy anything from them or not, he will help you however he can.
