Test formaldehyde levels before buying an RV

This could really cause problems for manufacturers and dealers . There is no regulation on this for RV's . If someone gets sick they should be able to sue the manufacturer . Regulated or not they caused the illness . But what does a dealer do if a potential buyer requests an RV to be tested and it is found unsafe ? This isn't covered under warranty or regulation . Can the dealer return it ?

Yeap, had this type of thing happen when looking for a new LQ horse trailer. Walked in a few and within minutes my eyes were itching and head was hurting. Needless to say I didn't buy that brand of trailer. The one I got wasn't bad at all. I do open the windows and doors on it often to air it out and get rid of what little smell it had.

I've been around rv's for 20 years. Never once seen or smelt or felt anything like anyone reports. Ever.

I think I've smelled that in some RV's that have been closed up, outside, on a hot day... Kind of smells like a particle board plant...

Yeap, both trailers were closed up on a hot day. I walked in a Sundowner, eyes were burning, Head started hurting, and very hard to breath. I didn't look twice at that trailer. The other trailer I could smell it but it wasn't as unbearable as the Sundowner. Wife and I both had the same reaction.
