Hey guys,

Does the superglide mount to universal rails?

truck came with universals in the bed, and welded to frame ( shoulda caught that but seems pretty common) i find on the net saying it does but then cant find if i need any adapter kits ect.

any help is appreciated. looking at a used hitch

Yes, the Superglide will mount to regular rails. You need the Superglide 4409 adapter rail. I works well, I have used it with the Dodge Picture Frame to mount my Superglide hitch into my truck.

I bought the Super-Slide that uses the universal rails. I guess it included the adapter Sledhead01 is talking about. It mounted easily and I love it. I did trim the front ends of the tubes so they cleared my toolbox.

Superglide does make a newer universal rail version hitch. I think its an 18k unit and isnt as large and cumbersome as the other hitches they make.

But I'm a little confused when you say the rails are "welded" to the frame. Can you post some pictures of this? Thats not what anyone is supposed to do when installing rails and could compromise the frame strength if its done wrong.
