Solution for raising RPMs/tire revolutions?

I'd like to be able to increase my RPMs a little without changing to 4.10 gears. My 5th whl RV would also sit more level if I could drop the truck down a slight bit.

I haven't been able to find any smaller diameter tires to replace the 265/70-17 E-rated set that don't have a lower load rating as well as a narrower width.

Does anyone know of a tire smaller in diameter that still has at least the same load rating?

I asked one tire dealer about replacing the wheels if needed to accomplish this. They wondered if other wheel sizes would fit over the brake calipers(?)

Any help or ideas about tires and/or wheels? Thanks.

Any smaller tires and you could get them from the toy store. Can't get smaller rims to fit over the calipers.

In all seriousness, how many rpm's are you looking for? have you tried the tow haul feature?

As for dropping the rear down you could remove the small 1/2 inch blocks in the back, seems to have worked for others.

About 3-5% more RPMs would be perfect. That would help me at takeoff and staying in overdrive on slight grades on highways. Got the idea from going one size taller on my commuter car which helped a lot in the other direction, lowered RPMs & increased MPG.

It's not such a big deal that I'd change the gearing. That would cost too much & add more RPMs than I'd like. I use tow/haul always when towing & only let it go to OD on fairly flat highways.

In a perfect world, I'd have a newer HO engine & 6-speed, but thought I'd see if there is anything that I could tweak since I'm due for tires. You're right about "toy store" tires...if not towing, I'd go larger for the looks.
