Lets see your carrying chemicals over the min amount which makes you fall under the haz mat requirements ie endorsements, placards. if you are using these products for a business or moneytary gain you are commercial their fore you need more things then i can list. i haul crazy weights with my daully all the time for long distances hauled 20k over 1100 miles. That truck had extra tires larger brakes it was still hard on it. You can do it but the first time you get stopped by a dot officer or even a state trooper that 4k you saved mite just cover what it will cost you by the fines that will be levied on you just my .02 worth i think finding an ltl shipper would be easier with less headaches but do what you want, but i cant tell you this when you get to Texas the dot will find ya cuz they love to jack with pick ups pulling trailers that look commercial like yours will

its not what weight you haul its what you can haul. he has 3 8k axles thats 24k his 2500 can haul about 6k on the hitch that puts him at 30k so he will not be all right. any trailer with daul tandems or 3 axles over 7k each will put you above the 26k bracket

I think the biggest obstacle will be the border into the US. As much of a hassle as I had just getting a truck part shipped here I'm sure the border patrol will be checking you out thoroughly....l

Yeah, I'll be getting all paper work and licencing before the trip down for sure, last thing I want is to be stuck down there because I neglected to get something.

Will do, its going to be a while yet as the trailer is still 6 weeks away and I have to figure all this paper work out but if it saves me 8-10 grand per trip, it will be well worth my time going down every 6 months or so

I applaud you for listening to reason on the weight part. We were never questioning your driving skill .That being said your truck will pull that weight with ease as my old 01 pulled a 8000 lb 5th wheel many miles without a problem. Good luck on your venture.

DOT will use your truck manufactors GAWRs with matching tire caps. That means our little 2500 trucks with a 6000 RAWR will most likely be over loaded. My suggestion is get the FMCSA regs book and read up on weights/hauling haz materials/insurance requirements/and on and on. It won't be good for your pocket book if your sent to the impound yard. See this web http://www.hotshothauling.com/wowbbs/index.php and ask some questions from these professionals on the what can happen when the regs aren't met. there are many more such webs out there for new entrants to get the facts on towing for a living.

edit; GAWR with matching tire caps instead of GVWR
