Replacing factory 7 round on hitch

So, on the 97 ram, the little tab that is on the inside of the trailer connector lid that holds the trailer end in securely is missing for some strange reason. I have to wrap duct tape around the connector every time to prevent it from falling out. Does anyone happen to know the part number on this or someone that sells this. It's plug and play with two plugs to the body harness under the truck. Dealer was no help. Or if someone has one they want to sell me...

That is the exact part I'm looking for! Now I just have to make sure on specific model since mine seems to have more wires coming out of it and I'll be all set.
Cheers bud. Thanks.

You're welcome, the dealer should be able to tell you if that part number will work for you. Good luck.

A little tip that will save wear and tear on that clip is this - - always wrap a small bungie around the cap and plug after you hook up. I use the short one with a big marble on the end. This will stop that cap flipping up and allowing the plug to work its way out from vibration while under way. This can wear and break that little tip off the cap. It is not fun to hit the brakes coming to a red light and have no trailer brakes working. Also, if you have a problem finding that lid, the whole socket assembly is readily available in places like WalMart or Advance Auto, etc. Just be a good solderer. And, if you park for some reason for several days and do not drop the fiver, you will want to pull the plug. Put the bungie on the steering wheel to remind you to go plug in and also make sure some idiot did not pull your lever so you drop the rig onto your bed rails when you take off. Why do jerks do that? DUH
