Rent a Trailer?

I'm in need of renting an enclosed trailer - something like a WellsCargo. I know that Uhaul rents them, but Uhaul is the devil. Does anyone have experience renting trailers for a week or so? If so, how did you go about finding them? Do I just need to bite the bullet with Uhaul? $29/day x 7 days = $203/week + additional charges .... just seems like too much.

Ideas?

Thanks,
Walt_Mink

Yeah, but it's not much of a savings. Maybe $2/day. Really, I've just had two bad experiences with Uhaul and want to avoid them if I can. Who knows, maybe the third time is the charm.

A guy I used to work with rented a brand new enclosed racecar trailer for real cheap at a smaller, local rental place. I think it cost him $50 for an entire weekend.

Around here there are at least 3 places to rent what ever you want trailers being the least of them. They are all within 25 minutes of my house. You can rent literaly anything and everything under the sun around here. From manure and silage handaling equipment to wedding decorations and all forms of construction equipment rite down to hammers and lawn mowers and what not. I have rented enclosed trailers several times. The price varries but the little ones are $25 a day for a 5x12 and they run up to $56 a day for the 8x24. Some of them have weekly rates that are a little cheaper but most just go buy the dayly rate.

There is a large trailer dealer around here that rents both flatbeds and enclosed trailers. their prices are very competitive (better than most) and their trailers are far better than anyone elses because they have the facilities to maintain them and keep them in top condition. Most people do not realize this, but get a phonebook and call some companies that sell trailers.... some rent them out as well...
