Mileage and prodigy
Well, went on my first short trip with the new trailer today.
I74 in NC. Just under 10mpg.....that doesn't seem to good to me, but then again, it was stop and go alot and hills, but still.... Also couldn't get my Prodigy to lock the wheels during adjustment per the manual BUT...the PacBrk works AWESOME!!!!! |
It's probably not the Prodigy or any controller that won't let your brakes look-up on the trailer. I was looking over the Dexter brake and axle manual this past weekend and read the following:
http://dexteraxle.com/i/u/1080235/f/...anual_2-08.pdf Read pages 12 and 13. Maybe that will be of some help to you. PCM |
Thanks for the info PCM.
Those points are zactly what I was thinking about. I haven't had to adjust brakes on a car/vehicle in years...guess it's time to start again. |
I hope you realize that you NEVER want to lock the trailer brakes. That would be instant out of control and probably one horrendous wreck.
|
the idea isn't to lock the trailer brakes with each application. when setting up the prodigy you set the voltage to just barely lock the brakes. the prodigy decides how much voltage to send to the trailer based on deceleration speed...

zactly what stumjumper said.
I'm going to look at the brakes adjustment |
