Looking for a Good enclosed trailer, 32ft+ fifth wheel
Hello,
My father and I are trying to look for an enclosed trailer, fifth wheel ofcourse and to pull it with an 04 3500 dually, but the trailers we found which were about 80 miles north east from the East bay Area California, they cost 13.5K, called H and H I believe. The sales rep said they make them back east, so maybe the shipping contributes to the overall price. What I want to know is, what manufacturer is good at making enclosed fifth wheels, are their any dual tire 2 axle enclosed versions? I have only seen single 2 or 3 axle trailers.
And where could we find a good used trailer, any places in california, or any internet sites that have good used trailers. BTW, the place where we stopped by quoted us 650 for the fifth wheel and install, but Im a bit leary on it b/c of the way the fifth wheel attaches to the truck, it will have a goosneck on bottom, then the fifth wheel clips to that. I'd rather have something that goes four corners and is easily taken out.
Another thing I'd like to know, we have a mechanic shop, basic shop tools, nothing too fancy or big, a forklift and an engine lift, but to install the hitch, say a reese or pullrite, would you have to take off the bed? How percise do you have to drill or cut holes, Wouldnt want to screw it up on a new truck bed.

My bank has a repo 53 foot enclosed triple axle goosneck. They dont have a price on it just make an offer. I have thought abough seeing if I can get it cheap enough then just turn around and sell it for a bit of profit. I realy have no need for a trialer that big but what the heck it would look neat behind my truck for a short while.
I know the owner of the trailer dealer that it is sitting at now and he went and got it with his 04 2500 600 with an auto and said it pulled it rite up to 70 mph and droped into OD and cruised along just fine. he said you realy couldent tell it was back there near as much as you would suspect with a 53 foot trailer. large large dealer you check online would be Orange City Trailer. They are abought 20 minutes from my dore and have around 100 acers of trailers.

Try Haulmark - internettrailer.com - you need to login for prices. 32' enclosed trailers can differ a lot. You can have regular axles, torflex, regular ramps, electrical ramps, interior lighting, side doors, etc. etc.
13.5K seems a little high for your standard 32' 5th wheel enclosed.
Haulmark's 32 footer's MSRP is $10,689.70 but they usually knock off quite a bit for a trailer that expensive. Thats a 3 axle Torflex.

Trying to find a used one, 10K+ for a new vs a few grand cheaper for a slighlty used one sounds better. Plus all the extra tax, and BS the dealer would add on it it would jump back up. 32-36+ footer trailer would be good, actually 36ft+ would be better b/c more room to add cargo in. Anyway thanks for the help guys, Im lookin through ebay and craigslist right now.
