Loading the Bed
I just took my truck to an old scale to weigh it because I be will loading some equipment that combined, weigh 2k + pounds into the bed and want to make sure I'm not going to be over loading the truck too much. Here are the numbers I got (which don't seem correct): - Curb Weight: 6960lbs
- Curb Weight, Front: 4220
- Curb Weight, Rear: 2710
Here is what the sticker says on the door for loading: - GVWR: 9000
- GAWR, Front: 5200lbs
- GAWR, Rear: 6010
Looking around on here it seems that people only recommend loading up to 2k or so on the truck, but it seems I can go more towards 3k with what I weighed in at; I plan on taking it to a better scale when I get the time. I'm not too concerned with it being overloaded as I've seen some of the stuff you fellas have done with these trucks, but wanted to know your takes on my numbers and what maximum payload I could throw in the bed and still be safe, for future reference. Thanks!
