Jayco wheel bearing adjustments/repack

I have a 2006 jayco jay flight that might need some attention in the wheel bearing department. I don't think I have put on more than 3000 miles on it, but before I took it on my last trip I gave each wheel a big hard shake while hanging on from the top and every tire/bearing seemed to have a little clunk to it. Not sure how much free or end play there should be but this did not seem right. Maybe it is...... Called the service dept where I got it from and got nowhere other then bring it in.

Pull all the wheels and hubs. You will barf when you see how the axle manufacturer actually packs the bearings, or the extreme lack of packing that they do. Absolutely positively repack now!!

I agree with Tim. You will notice that the bearings are not packed with grease whatsoever. Make sure to clean out all of the old remaining grease prior to repacking. This is especially important if you plan to use a grease with a different thickener in order to avoid compatibility issues.
