Jacking up trailer

Does anyone know if I can jack up a trailer with Torflex axles by the axle tubes. The axles are 7K axles and the trailer is empty (6000 lbs).

If its tandom axle pull one tire up on a block and the other wheel will lift off the ground.

Keep the jack as close to the spindle as possible and I think you should be all right.

If this don't work, it would be a good time to swap to slipper springs.

I found a good crossmember on the trailer so I used that. Why would I want slipper springs? :)

I was wondering the same thing, you got the best suspension out there. Just to expensive for most trailers.

I have torsion axles on my boat trailer and had wondered what is the easiest way to jack it up.

I read that block trick here long ago and tried it with my boat trailer. I didn't have a block that would work so my neighbor loaned me one of his car ramps to try it out. I placed the ramp behind the rear tire, backed the trailer up; and promptly crushed the ramp flat.

My solution was having a welder buddy find some scrap and build me a little frame "jig" that I can fit under the trailer frame rail between one of the three axles that permits me to lift the frame rail with a 12 ton bottle jack.

check out this site. they have it all as long as you have dexter axel's. Most axels are Dexter I have found on trailers though http://www.dexteraxle.com/home

I have MORryde IS suspension and mine is easily handled with the block trick. Dexter recommends not jacking on the axle tube. I note the RV shop jacks on the frame to bring both wheels off at the same time.

I have the same thing made out of a piece of 6x6 with a chainsaw, actually two of them.

I cut them to be a close fit between the front and rear tire so that I could use them as chocks, also.

With one of these between the tires on both sides, the trailer can't roll either way.

They will also work to get a wheel off the ground.

Mine are not as snazzy as the store-bought one in the picture, but the price was right.
