Factory trailer connector

Hi. Regarding the 97 ram 3500 in my sig, the little tab on the trailer connector that keeps my trailer side plugged into the truck is broken off necessitating a healthy does of duct tape to keep it connected when I'm towing. Needless to say this is a pain and not efficient. Does anyone here know the part number for this or where to get one? Or one they want to sell me? The 7 pin connector has a pig tail on it with two separate connectors that plug to the factory harness under the truck. It should be available I just want a direct fit replacement.

That would be a standard 7 wire RV trailer connector, available at any auto parts store.

They have pretty thin clamps that sometimes let a wire slip off. I go to the trouble to solder #6 ring tongue terminals (various wire sizes) to the wires, insulate the barrels, and put them under the screws.

A wire pulling off and shorting inside the connector can really wreck your day.

To clarify, you don't need the pigtail section that plugs into the truck's harness upstream of the trailer plug in. Just get a new 7 pin receptacle and unhook the individual wires from the old receptacle and reinstall them in the same position on the new receptacle.

Go to the link I posted and call them, they have one for less than half the price of Dodge. Sorry I don't have the time to look it up for you..
