hey rick, i had them all strapped down but i pulled in and had all the straps off trying to get it unloaded before dad caught me. But he just-so-happened to drive by and see my "load" well 10 minutes later and a big lecture about how young-men-laugh-all-the-way-to-the-grave i started to unload it and he says "hold on a second and let me go get the camera"

those looked kike six foot bales which depending on the hay could have made them closer to the 2000# range. I have had wet 6 foot bales of oats with the plastic wrap on them before and crossed the scales at the feed store and had one of them weigh in at ~2100#. Of course dry straw hay in a 4.5 to 5footer would be lucky to reach 1000# so the weights can very greatly.

If that unit is a Neckover, which it appears to be from his gallery, the GVW on it is no more than 20K unless they speced different axles so that's were I got my 5K figure from.
Either way, heck of a feat and I'm sure someone else will agree that there is a good chance that the bales themselves were a little more than 1K each. Especially with all the rain we've had lately.

Looks like a Diamond C built by Fleet Trucks...those anti sway cross bars under the frame really add to the weight! That trailer looks to be in the 32'+ range, just like my Uncle's (which is 32', and weighs 8500lb on a Cat Scales) That could be a 12 ton trailer too!
Our 30' Corn Pro weighs in around 7500 with the chains and straps on it

Oh, and those bales look to be ~4'x5' bales...judging from him standing next to it, and the fact that they don't seem to be hanging off the trailer! That would put them ~1200 each with GOOD Alfalfa hay. If it's got some grass in it, they'll be lighter.

they are 4x5's and it's red clover that got wet before they were baled. clover is close to alfalfa.(half first cousins) #1000 is probaly a little light on them (I didn't want to strech it ) the trailer is a 32' neckover gvw #24000 on the sticker

Good Job, I still think the guy pulling 42,000 out of Alaska to Texas with a 3/4 ton was more impressive. Not to put you down but he went a long way.. Still a lot of weight

That trailer is easily half again as long as mine, and mine only has dual axles, not dual tandems.
Mine weighs 4400 empty according to the manufacturers plate, with a 14k rating.

Hope you didn't have to pull any hills. We are just finishing out last little bit of 1st cutting (thank goodness) 1,200 rolls (5x5) and about 1,000 sq bales.

FarmBoy, I noticed you have a Gatormade trailer.
From what I have seen, they are about the best out there, and not nearly so high-dollar as they look like they would be.
I just can't figure the "Gator" name, when they are built right close in Somerset, Kentucky; there ain't many gators around there.

Yeah,
I love my Gatormade, it's an animal. 12" I beam frame from front to back, and they come loaded up! Lights evereywhere, locking chain box, spring assist ramps, fire ext, spare, dual jacks, and all for under $5,000 out the door for a 14k trailer. We also have a 35' Corn Pro, and dollar for dollar the Gatormade is twice the trailer. I should be a salesman!

Someone from the TDR weighed in at 53,140 Lbs a few years ago. You should be able to read the first page. 652 bushels of corn.
