differences?

I'm looking at 94-98 12V's & was wondering if theres any real differences between the 2500 and the 3500 for use with a fifth wheel?

Mostly stability. How big of a 5ver are you looking at?

The 2500 manuals have a Dana 80 instead of a 70 (All 3500 have the 80)
Not all 2500 have rear overloads and swaybar (part of the camper package)

Around 31-34' with a pin weight of upto 3100# & a gross of 12-13K

Definitely go with the 3500 for that kind of pin weight.

I figured that whatever I buy I'd put air bags on at least the rear.

Plus trailers always seem to weigh more than you plan on. I agree with the 3500...

Thats just about where I'm at. Trailer plus dually is a great combo and very stable on the road. Moved the trailer once with a 3/4 and knew I needed more truck.

Dual's are nice to have but I have been pulling my 31' TT with a F250 IDI 4x4 which handles the weight ok but is short in the power department since I'm grossing about 16,000# currently.
