The trailer that I would recommend would have to be BigTex. They seem to have the best built trailer for the money. I wish I would have bought one. I have a Take 3. Would not recommend that.

I had a Big Tex as well. It was a great trailer! Very high quality and good resale. In fact, I used the heck out of it and still profitted $500 when I sold it.

I have had a Buck Dandy for about 2.5 years and have been happy with it. It's built very stout. All the frame work is 1/4" c channel with angle iron crossmembers, even the ramp slides and tail light mounts are heavy duty. It has a Bulldog hitch and foldup jack. Only complaints I have is they didnt grind the torch slag off the front of the deck and the wiring connections weren't that great; both of which aren't that big of a deal.

My dad has a similar Big Tex and I'm not that impressed for the price he paid. He paid cash for about the same price as I did financed and he got it from an idependent dealer, who was a good bit cheaper than direct from Big Tex. The fabrication is good, but the kinked square tubing looks cheesy IMO. The front marker lights are mounted out to the side of the trailer begging to be torn off; mine are mounted up under the frame out of the way. The tail lights were mounted on sheetmetal brackets; mine are on 3x5x.25 angle iron. He had to build new mounts for them a couple months later because they were bent up. I have broken a couple tail lights myself, but atleast the mount was still there. The dove tail is a little too low and drags the ground pretty easy also. Dont get me wrong, it's a nice trailer, but I think it's over rated for the extra cost.

I have used and abused mine over many miles and the only problem I've had is keeping tires on it. But that's mostly because of cheap tires and being overloaded a lot.

XX22!! I bought my 1st trailer used. H&H manual tilt wood deck. I could not believe the way this thing towed behind. It didn't matter what I hauled or where it was positioned on the bed, it would not weave/fishtail. 99.9% right behind the truck unless hit a big pothole.

I could go as fast as I wanted also.

I sold that one and bought a new steel deck 20' elect. tilt bed, same story. The engineers did an exellant job!!!

See my pics.

This is my <ahem> 7K, 18ft, H&H manual tilt deck. Pretty good trailer for occasional use and the price but I wouldn't use it commercially. Used it for my grass cutting company for a year hauling a small mower and burned off the stock tires in 3 months.

Also unlike above I find the wheels are placed too far forward, they need to be that far forward for it to tilt properly, however I have loaded a car backwards a few times and found with the engine weight at the back it tends to bob and sway. Same thing happened when I tried to load two mowers, couldn't get enough hitch weight and it tended to want to wander.

With my Jeep(Grand Cherokee on 36" tires) I can pull it up enough to get the hitch weight right and it tows great, even at 80mph. Oddly enough in the pic above it towed great as well(kept it to 60). Seems like the more hitch weight it has the better it tows.

Downside, tires and said above, and wiring is crap, scotchlocks and and unsealed connections. Going to have to redo it soon. Two other guys in my 4wd club have the exact same trailer but 1/4 of the miles mine has as they only use it to haul their jeeps. Both have had the same problems as me.

Oh yeah, get the LED lights. My regular lights kept rattling the filaments out. Was replacing a bulb almost every trip. Ended up buying a set of LEDS and changing them out.

Only a little..... I'm glad I upped the tire size and load rating after the first set wore out.

I never had any problems with my H&H trailer(s). I've towed an Ferd Expedition (inlaws-broke down on them about 50 miles out--HAHA) and that was on my 7K (wood deck) and it towed fine with my driving (70-85mph). Like I stated before it didn't matter where I put the vehicles on it, mine did not have any problems loading on the tilt either. I use my trailer at least once a month to haul my car to shows/racing.

I now have a 10K metal deck that has no problems at all either. I mine alot.
