Which Brake Controller?
Which Brake Controller?
I am looking into buying a brake controller and I am not sure which one to get. From what I have read the prodigy is a pretty good one. What do you guys think? Should I get something digital or what? Thanks
Re:Which Brake Controller?
I own a Prodigy and I love it. I have heard that the Jordan is a little better. If I had to buy another one, those are the only two I would look at. Would not hesitate for a minuite to buy another Prodigy. Has worked very well for me.

My Opinion. The Jordan is much smoother than the Prodigy and will not give you some of the unexpected occurances that the Prodigy does. Check on www.irv2.com under the fifth wheel section for discussions on brake controllers. You will find the overwhelming choice of those who have used both controllers stick with the Jordan.

I have a Jordan and have had others before. I have to say the Jordan is absolutely the best brake controller I have ever used -- smooth as could be and once its adjusted for the trailer you don't have to touch it again. ;D

From all the discussions before on this topic, you can't go wrong with either the Jordan or the Prodigy. Personally, I have the prodigy. Probably because camping world sells it and the store is close to me. ;D

Try to figure that one out, Tony. Why doesn't CW carry the Jordan? Maybe they can't twist an arm hard enough to get the price they want from Jordan. They are out to make a bunch of money on everything they sell. I ask for a Jordan everytime I go in there just to pull their chain a little bit. Then, of course, they show me what they have. And, of course, I have to jerk the chain a little and tell them I only want a Jordan and I will have to go somewhere else to buy it.
More fun.

Definitely go with one of the newer generation controllers. Personally, I have a prodigy that works very well for me. Cannot speak to the Jordan because I've never used one, but have heard only good things about them.
Re:Which Brake Controller?
Have used the Jordan and the prodigy. Have to say Jordan wins hands down!!! A little more detailed in the installation, but well worth it. Customer service is also excellent. Needed a replacement cable sheath due to switching unit to new vehicle. They sent me a new one, NO CHARGE, no problem, no questions. BTW, if you have a technical question and give them a call, guess who answers the phone? The owner and inventor of the Jordan controller. Can't ask for anything better. Quality is rock solid also. Hope this helps, Kevin

Here is about the cheapest I have seen for the Jordan.
http://www.bestbrakecontroller.com/
I bought mine from the manufacturer and paid more than that.

There have been dozens of threads on controllers. Some friendly and some getting a tad bit upset. One thing I have never seen is a Jordan owner that would go back to any other type. I even bought a backup just in case.
