Bought a new Superglide, but no template for installation

I did not get a template for universal installation. They did give measurements, but afraid to screw it up. Any advice for a universal installation?

Looks like I should start with the L brackets at the rear (it does have one hole in the frame) and measure on top of the bed for my rail and drill the holes and hope it aligns up with the L bracket.

With one rail bolted, put my hitch in the bed, pin it, mock my other rail drill through the bed. Bolt up the front L bracket (this tell me where to drill holes through the frame) and bolt it to the frame.

Right?

Pictures Please, I'm dumb sometimes
