big lift, need help
i bought my truck about 2 months ago, and the truck is gonna get put to work now, and i cant find a ball mount that is strong enough or one that has enough inches of drop. i need at least 10" of drop and the highest possible load rating. this truck will be used every day for pulling a lawnservice trailer that weighs about 6000 lbs. any recomendations??[dummy]

I have one from Reese I think its about a 10" drop. I'll have to check the weight ratings on it, its 5 or 6k lbs. I got it at an RV shop, cost about 50 bucks I think

$50 bucks would be a relief, i was looking at a solid stainless hitch that had a 12 or 15000 lb rating, but they wanted almost $130:o , i bout $hit.

any good with the welder? get you some material and build you a drop, make it as strong as you can. At least thats what I would attempt

First off lower the thing back to it normal hight or other wise you will be spot lighting the tree tops at night. second "12 or 15000 lb rating" your going to be over the weight of the hitch with out going to a weight distributing hitch.

Go buy a good rear bumper, (ranchhand style), with a 10 inch drop then buy a good hitch that has like a six in drop and that should get u close. pluse they look better, but that just my .02

6k 11" drop 10k 10 7/8" drop I have the 6k and it works great and only $40 |
The AlumaStinger 10" drop hitch on my '05 is rated for 14K# (2K# tongue weight); it's stronger and lighter than the monster adjustable steel hitch on my '98.
