Best tires for towing?

I'm looking for some new tires for my truck, a 2007 6.7L Dually, 2007 model. The size is 235 80R17 and the stock tires that came on it are already toast at 25k miles. They suck.

I tow a small boat trailer and also a 13k lbs 5ver about 15 to 20 times per year, sometimes on long hauls. Can you guys give me some recommendations as to what tire is best? I was thinking of Michelin because I had good luck with my last set but they are EXPENSIVE! Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Jack

Michelin ltx or
Toyo open country HT Tough duty
WE run the tough duties and they hold up real well not much in the snow but good in the rain and last towing

Needs to say MICHELIN on sidewall. LR-E. Factory size.

Bridgestone Durvais R500 or R700 commercial tires.
Check Tirerack Jack.
The 500 is a ribbed all season and the 700 is the traction version. Very comparable to the Michelin XPS and they have the size you need for your truck.

Firestone Transforce ATX have served me well. I also have a good relationship with my dealer and a good friend at the big office in DesMoine. The Transforces have given me no reason to lean on the support network that I have. I have a lot of towing miles on the 2 sets that are on both of my 3/4 ton trucks. The Duramax towed a 12,000 trailer to 8 Nascar races last season and are showing a bit of wear on the rear. I suppose If I had rotated them the wear would be less noticable but I am happy with the showing of miles that they have gone so far

Been using the Transforce HT as trailer tires and so far it seems that the roadside problems are a thing of the past (sitting here rapping my nuckles on the wooden table)

I just replaced my tires with LT265/70R17/E Michelin's M/S2. These are rated for a expected 70,000 mile tread warranty. I have only pulled my 5er once after these were installed. I am happy with them so far ride and noise level are very acceptable. Michelin does make a LT235/80R17/E tire for the DRW pick-up truck. Here is a link to their web site.

The Duravis M500 looks comparable to the LTX A/S (factory spec), but is even more expensive. Appears to be a good comp if the one review on T-R is representative (150k miles with 6/32's remaining).
