airbag help

Firestones are now on the truck. Picking up my new 5er on Monday. Pin weight empty is 1850 and that's how I'll be towing it home - long distance. I'm looking for opinions on what psi to try for starters and then what to feel for to know if I should add or let air out, as this will also be my first 5er.

My GN has a 2k pin weight. I put 20 psi in mine before I hook up. Seems to be good for me.

Yep, 20psi per 1000lbs will do the job nicely. 100psi levels 5000lbs.

I usually put whatever it takes to make the truck ride like its empty. At least looks like its empty.

With 2000lbs of pin weight,I run about 13-14psi. I started at 20 and that was way too much for my taste.

You need at least 5 psi or you can cut the bags.

Too much and your just riding on the bags and in my experience, its like riding on balloons. The trailer bounces too much.

Air Bags

I run around 30-35 when hooked to my 5th wheel with about the same pin weight you have. Keeps the truck level and the ride is good.
