5th wheel to gooseneck adapters?

I currently have a curt quick goose 2 ball installed in my truck. im considering buying a 5th wheel and wondering what everyone thinks of the adapters. i called curt and asked them if they made one that fits where the ball does and comes out to a fiver hitch like the b&w one but they said no. does anyone know of anything like this? am strongly against drilling more holes in my truck bed love my gooseneck hitch but want to be able to pull a camper safely without voiding the warranty also. any thoughts or ideas would be great. thanks jared

I really don't like those adapters that attach to 5th wheels. They act like a cheater bar, multiplying the load put on the 5th wheel frame.

I've talked to a few people who haven't had a problem yet, but I've also talked to people who broke things.

If the manufacturer of the 5th wheel and/or 5th wheel frame said in writing using one was OK and wouldn't void the warranty, I'd maybe consider it... But I think most RV makers won't say that.

I like my B&W. The only draw back is that you have to use tools to remove the 5th wheel hitch.

The other possibility is that there are goose neck ball hitches that mount to standard bed rails that would also accept a 5th wheel hitch.

my other problem is i have a shortbed 4 door truck and couple guys said the if i went with the b&w option i wouldn't have enough turning clearance because the trailer i like has a more square nose, its a carriage, it doesn't have a radiused nose. does anyone know if this is true or not?

From what I've seen some 5th wheels will work OK with a short bed and B&W and some won't. With no radius corners, a wide body, or with a pin box that doesn't stick out in front of the trailer, it might be a problem.

I suppose measuring woudl be the only way to tell for sure.

A Superglide would probably be my preference with a short bed, so I'd know there wouldn't be any issues and the short bed wouldn't limit my choices.

I went the other way. I have a 5th wheel hitch in the truck and use a 5th wheel adapter in the goose trailer.

check with carriage and see if it will void the warranty to put a gooseneck on the trailer, I put one on the trailer in my sig and the engineers at Holiday Rambler said No Problem with warranty at all, it did take them a couple hours to get back to me but give carriage a call and see what they say. DO NOT ASK A DEALER lol.
