19.5 ALCOAs
I had one of the heads of Alcoa in here yesterday. Gave him your suggestion and the first question out of his mouth was how many do you want to commit to. It is Alcoa's nice way of say how many thousands do you need.
Well I can commit to five.
That's five each not 5 thousand.
What if we got everyone who wants them to commit here on DTR.
He did not happen to mention a base price with a minimum run number did he?

I can't see the market(me) forking out 2700 dollars for 19.5" wheels(DRW), no matter how good they look, then add the price for tires! I don't like my 16in wheels but until I find an alternative, ex.direct fit for 800.00 bucks would be great, then I will just keep them. just my 2 cents.

I would pay it. And the tooling excuse is total BS. You can order the Ford bolt pattern 8x100 in 19.5's from Alcoa.
All it would take is to drill the holes on the blanks to 8x6.5 BC
Ricksons problems on production have been problems on production, not lack of interest or sales.
They can't get people to make the wheels. Last I talked with them they were trying to get them done in house, it doesn't look like that worked.
I have a set of their wheels before the price increased. Camper dealers, Camping World would be able to sell them with no problem, or would have who knows now.
I have a friend that owns a tire store he told me he could have sold the crap out of 19.5 but Rickson couldn't deliver. The Lance camper dealer couldn't get them but could have sold the crap out of them too.
If you're hauling/pulling big weight they are the way to go nothing comes close. As it is I'll put a set of the Visions on my 3rd gen.
I don't see where there is much tooling up to make these wheels. They already make 19.5 wheels, they already make Ford, Chev, Dodge 8 hole wheels. All they have to do is have the programmer set up a program for the cnc machine. They aren't starting from scratch, and even if they were so what that's their job.
How many people put 20's on their trucks? People made them. How much are tires for 20's?
19.5's are great in the rocky trails, gravel roads and hiway. Maybe not so good in the sand or mud.
Junk a 20 inch tire in some little town and you're out of luck, junk a 19.5 and you have a good chance of getting a tire in a short while.
I priced some Toyo MT's that were 33" tall and had a 3900 pound load cap and the difference between buying Visions and Khumo tires was $320.00. I'll spend the extra $320.00 and get a higher weight rating and sell my stock stuff for $100 to $150 and now only be into it for a couple of hundred extra.
