'03 Ram transforms into '07 Diesel,..on vacation
3 Attachment(s)
Started vacation with 2003 ram 1500. Ooops 9 1/4 axle I.E.D.'S on highway. Dealer in Maryland can repair it in 2 weeks (have you seen The Money Pit?) (same crew now works in service department) BUUUT they have a new '07 2500 2wd 5.9 diesel (that looks like the '03 1500) that will get us and the rv home. It will only cost us sticker price of $42,000.00. H. S. ,thats twice the price I paid for the '03. Sales manager was correct, I will never tow with a gas truck again (including a hemi ). Nice to drive home with the ac on and the speed control on with Serius satellite radio playing(could not use the ac or speed control towing with the gas truck) and a 11.5 AAM axel protecting our backside. Nice first post.
Welcome to the forum, and enjoy the excellent truck. |
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^Agree with all above.
Cummins 5.9 is a living legend |
$42k??? WOW, who the heck do they think they are.
|
Welcome to the site but I hope you dident seriously pay 42K for that truck. Thats WAY over priced. Thats more than new.

Congrat's and welcome!
I started with a '92 Ford Ranger. Moved up to a '97 F150. And finally the DRW! With each move, I never looked back! Oh, and diesel fuel is addictive. Look at my signature  ! Read up and learn more and more about what you can do with and to these trucks! Tony |
That is the sticker price on the window. A 2010 is now over $50,000.00. The truck is a laramie and I still have the window sticker.

When I first read the thread I first thought it was an old one, then I thought it was a miss print. Now I just don't know.[laugh] Let me get this straight, you bought a new 2007 truck (probably built in 2006) in the model year 2010 for the sticker price of $42K US?? Or did you buy the truck in 2007? (which would make more sense.) Either way you now own a Cummins and I'm sure you will enjoy it. Happy trails.[coffee]

I will try to help clear up the confusion you are experiencing. The date at the end of the story is June 2007. That is when this happened. the price for the new 2500 CTD laramie was $42,000.00 in Maryland. If you think that is not correct, you should check out the price on a new 2010, 2500 CTD Quadcab Laramie, it is over $50,000.00. The point to this is that the 2007 Quadcab 2500 CTD Laramie I had to buy on my vacation, has been the most reliable, strongest running. best looking truck I have ever owned, AND has proven its self every time I needed it to. I would pay the $42,000.00 for it again, gladly.
