Dude, here's the skinny on brake controller installation:
1. Get a wiring harness for your controller that is made for your truck
2. Plug one end into the controller
3. Plug the other end into your truck's receptacle harness for brake controllers (it's that zip-tied thing everyone's talking about - not hard to find if you just get upside down and look under the steering wheel area)
4. Mount your controller
5. Go buy yourself a $200 congratulations gift

A quick word of advise, your '06 uses a TIPM (Totally Integrated Power Module) that senses unexpected power use. Be very careful about tapping into wires. You are much better off using plug-in modules that match up with existing harnesses.

yeah, and talking about that, the dealer had no idea about that I asked if they could up the capacity because people are blowing them.. They said they charge $89 for a reflash.
What's weird is this dealer mainly deals with heavy duty trucks...
I'm taking it back tonight... I can live with an intermident vibration but not the stereo... I'll ask them again about the TIPM thingy.

And yeah, I'll get the harness for the brake controller... The only wire that would be spliced that way would be the reverse lights.. But I might not even do those at this time... Although it sure is easier working under a clean new truck.
