Tow Strap Safety.. Pics Speak For Themselves
Had a pretty close call today, made me realize that sometimes u need to slow down in life and not be in a hurry all the time. Cause u never know when ur time is up. As u can see a clevis attched to my 6" strap went through the rear window inches from my head and then right through my front window messing up my roof then finally landing in front of my truck...hope this can be a lesson for some...always think saftey when hooking to somthing....Hate to say it but I really needed a new winshield and I wanted a rear slider!!

****, glad your ok.
I was thinking the same things as thrashingcows
This reminds me I was knocked silly once getting pulled out of the mud in my quad... darn strap broke, smacked me square in the face. Luckily it was just the strap that hit me.
Nice truck by the way.

Whew ... that would make me a whole lot gun-shy after that.
Thanks for posting it ... you may have just saved someones life by showing them what can happen.

Thanks for all the good wished, all I got was a scratch on the arm!!
The story goes, had about a 75' cable choked around a stump, underneath and around the top. Then I had my 50' 6'' strap connected to the cable with a clevis. Well on the 2nd yank, the cable end gave way and the clevis slung shot with my strap through my windows and putting a heck of a dent in my roof/drip rail. Ill post a pic of that later, I cant believe what it did to the sheet metal, if that woulda been my head. I wouldnt be here typin this. Im definatly going build something to make sure it never happens again. I will always take my time the next time Im yanking on something good, thats for sure. I might even invest in a lead blanket or something.
