Wheres my thread?

I posted a thread here earlier about my experience with xtremediesel.com and how horrid their customer service was...was it deleted? if so why?

dodgezilla04 Aug 30, 2007 05:00 PM

usually threads that directly name an individual, supplier, or dealer are killed. you can post
"i had horrible service with a certain vendor, if you want to know who so you can stay clear of them, pm me"
keeps the bashing down to a minimum

Gotlift01 Aug 30, 2007 05:01 PM

They don't allow vendor bashing here so that's why it got deleted, it just keeps everything civil and doesn't start any wars. There have been numerous threads deleted or locked from tranny discussions because people start bad mouthing a vendor.

I get the point but at the same time, this site is here for information. I was nothing but honest about what I wrote, even said their prices are great...customer service was just horrid. Oh well:cool:

i understand completely. however you gotta understand that by the site owners permitting using the names, they could be held liable for slandering as well as the person posting. Not saying you were not telling the whole story, but many times here, someone has bashed the heck out of a vendor, got a large bandwagon rolling, and we all find out that there was much more to the issue at hand. this is just a way of preventing things from getting ugly.

I can completely understand that, I was just curious, thanks for the info!

I'm sure it has nothing to do with the fact that they pay to advertise on this site...[roll]

Those threads are pulled. Weather the vendor advertises on DTR or not.

I may not always agree with the decisions made, but I also don't ever recall Jack and Larry not being fair.

Ask Larry the first advertising sig to get removed.

Banks is the only vendor that you can openly bash on this site. Even the DTR powers that be know that Banks stuff is ok to bash.

Yea I graduated from CSU last may...great school, I took some ag econ classes as I was a econ major.

Well IMO it looks like this- you can "bash" a product- read you can post your less than awesome experiences with the product, but you can not attack a vendor of said product.
I did see a lot of banks bashing a long time ago- since then it has become a kind of consensus on this site that there are cheaper ways to get more power and that the way banks claims that their products don't impact on warranty is a bad joke.

Nevertheless at least in the forums I frequent there isn't much vendor or product bashing. There are a lot of experiences described by users, a lot of them really bad experiences, but no bashing and name calling.

Just my 2c

I killed it.

We will not allow 'bashing' of ANY vendor, dealer, or company on our site.
It makes absolutely NO difference if they're a site advertiser or not.

There are always two sides to every story.

Problems with vendors are always handled better face to face.
When that doesn't work, try legal means if you think you have a case.

Slamming someone's livelyhood on a public forum usually results in a less than satifactory conclusion for BOTH parties.

I liked the good old days when we just bashed Hoss

Where's the HAC when you need it?
