Trouble Logging On

Lately, the past few days I have had trouble logging on. I can get to the board if I clear my cookies, but as soon as I log on the page disappears.

A couple of time the page says "Updating DTR or something. Then it works.

Is Lary or Jack playing with the software again?

We have the server set to alert us when ever you try to log on so we can jerk your chain a little

I think you are on the right track by clearing out your cache and closing the browser before trying to log on again. This forces your browser to load a fresh page as it may be trying to load one from memory.

Jack does work on the software every now and then, but it sounds more like a browser issue to me

I haven't had any issues but I don't know about updates.

I figured as much.

I get a page that says something like DST updated, then it's fine.

I'll bet Jack is playing it the "settings options" portion of the new software again.

It's fine now.

I have had some minor changes to my network getting rid of Norton Systems stuff. It was really slowing down everything with it's random searches for viruses & stuff.

What do you all use for firewalls?

I remember something about running the server through a smarty to speed it up. I'll bet that's it, you probably need a software update.

I used to run zone alarm but I am currently using tiny firewall instead. It seems to coexist better on my machine.

No changes here. I haven't done any software changes for over a month.

I'm seeing the same thing.

As soon as I log on, it goes to a blank page.
Sometimes, if I'm quick, I'll see a flash of "updating DST" or something like that.

Only way I can stop it is to have my mouse hovering over the "forums" link, and click on it really fast and a lot before it has a chance to go to the Updating DST thing.

Other times I'll have logged in the way described above, and a box will pop up saying it updated to DST fine, and click to continue.

This happens only at work, as it is the only place I actually log off when I'm done.
I stay logged on at home as I am the only one using that computer.

This has been going on for a couple months, but not all the time.

Never brought it up because we always are having odd firewall problems at work, and I chalked it up to that.

no problems here, ever no matter what computer i use. I'm not saying you're not having problems. I just never see them. As for the DST thing, I don't have anything on the site that would "update DST". I don't know what that is.

Most issues can be solved simply by clearing out your cache and closing your browser before trying to log on again. This forces your browser to load a fresh page instead of an old page from memory.
