build a better front end, envery dodge out there needs a full front suspention around 100k or so may be fixed by making everything greaseable...

also like was said before EGT monitoring at least monitor it yall wont put a gauge in the truck.

Thats my comment too.

I would like to see more options when ordering. There are some items I would like to order but do not want or need the whole package to get one or two options. I know they like to sell the package deal, but sometimes it would be better to only get a few things.

Example: Someone that works a lot in muddy site may like some options in the SLT or Larmie package but a carpet on the floor would need to be cleaned a lot. A rubber floor covering may be better for them.

It would be nice to unbundle the packages and get a few options and keep the price down some since the new trucks are getting so expensive.

First off i love my 06, it pulls hard, its reliable, and is good on fuel!!

Why doesn't ram go back to having a HO and a standard output engine? I want more power, 350hp and 650tq doesn't cut it for me. Why not tune a HO for 800tq put in extra heavy duty parts and throw in some options like pyro, boost? I know the truck would cost more but if its a better truck that is to be expected

Standard output could be tuned for max fuel economy.

Why dont you go with a air ride system. Instead of coils and leaf springs

I didn't go with a mega dually in 06 why was the payload and tow rating so low compared to the quad dually?

With the 68rfe auto transmission, why does exhaust brake operation end at 20mph? Why not 10mph? I can see that the torque converter needs to unlock before coming to a stop, but when towing on steep, twisty, windy roads, it would sure be nice to have the ebrake working down to a lower speed.

1. greaseable joints and shafts....my old truck has about 12 of them...
2. fix the death wobble....why has it been designed into the truck for 17 model years now....
3. seat sux period....on my 2nd seat foam on my 07, and it has 30k miles...
4. old school front wheel bearings with lockouts.....it would do away with that vibration at 65 from the front shaft....
5. real towing package...real towing hitch, not the 1/2 ton friggin hitch on a 2500-3500...

I'm done...I really love the trucks that I have now....would consider a 2011 if the 5.9 was still available...I still love driving my old 12 valve non-ic truck...its slower, but it works just as hard and puts out the smoke...

better rear suspension. both my 91 and my 02 ride like crap and neither of them will hold weight. for how stiff they ride, they both sag out way too easy. still wouldnt trade either of em for a new one or a ford or chev.

Would you consider adding a fuel economy or power switch ?. It would be really simple, when in economy mode the truck would have reduced power, more timing, more torque management, maybe earlier shifting. This would all create less emissions thus putting less soot into the DPF requireing less regens.
The power side would have the trucks full power, less torque management, hold gears longer, and remind you that you have a Cummins under the hood. You could have a Cummins logo on the dash that would change color with each selected mode, how cool would that be???

#1 The hood bulge on 25-3500's is probably there for a reason but the bulge-less 1500's don't appear so stubby looking. Any way of redesigning?
#2 Can you put a real tow/haul trans in them? For years I have respected my brother's GMC based on that feature. My 05 tow/haul was o/d lockout re- worded.Typical cheap out on Chrysler's part. Very dissapointing when the GM could be commanded thru every gear or allowed to run auto in two modes.

And 1 comment--

It seems Ram is always a couple yrs behind what Ford has already done. Tried and true Dodge guy here, so I am not a Ford guy in sheep's clothes. That said I would like to see Ram at the forefront with some heavy duty, well thought improvements. It took years to see an integrated brake controller, now Ford has mounts for fifth wheels integrated. They sell more because overall they make a convenient package for work trucks. It also took years to get a 45-5500 series from Dodge. Please please please start looking ahead of Ford with these HD features. The base product is great but if one has a choice the only thing that steers them to a Ram seems to be the 'C' on the fender. Dodge was a heckuva work truck back in the 50's to 80's era.
My vote goes to engineering the Cummins into a Power Wagon too. It can be done w/ a winch AND intercooler. I'd still own mine if had the diesel.

Reading through a lot of this stuff makes me think of why the foreign cars became so popular here.

When will we see a truck with the option out of the factory for a good transmission with upgraded from stock torque converter, valvlebody, shafts and clutch packs?! I'm sure half the consumers buying diesel would choose it, it'd be an automatic purchase for me.

I don't tow at all & rarely haul heavy. I got a diesel for the longevity & fuel ecomony. But with all the EPA crap, fuel economy has gone to poo & the price is outrageous!! $55k+ for a pickup?? You're kidding, right?? And for that money we get crappy u joints & tie rods, a HVAC system that sometimes works, a transmission that is barely adequate to do what I do with it, no guages that actually helps us know what the truck is doing, a **** poor design for the doors, a cheap interior & sheet metal so thin that a good breeze will dent it. Give me choices & use quality parts!!! Back in the day, when you ordered a vehicle you had 3 or 4 choices of engines, 2 or 3 choices of transmissions & 3 or 4 choices of gears. Have it so that we can order the accessories we want. I just want cruise control, not the 95 other things you require me to have with the cruise control. That way I can get what I want & not feel too bad about paying a mortgage payment for a vehicle that starts breaking down before the thing is paid off!!!
